I  don't have any children of my own, so I consider all my

students my children. They keep me young by brightening my days.

After getting my license in Cosmetology, I opened several Salons from 1966 until

1998. I share all the ups and downs of business with our students.

I was appointed to the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology five times for 4 year

terms (20 years) by Governor List, Governor Bryan twice, Governor Miller twice,

and Governor Guinn. While serving on the board and seeing what the schools

were turning out, I decided to open a school. In 1998 I open a cosmetology

school with my very good friend Loni Casteel.

I love watching the creativity that our students have and the beautiful work that

they turn out. I enjoy our outstanding staff of instructors.

I have attended all of the Redken symposiums which have advanced classes for

three days in everything hair which keeps me on top of all new cutting, coloring,

and styling.

In addition to my cosmetology experience, I served in the United States Naval

Reserves for 20 years advancing to Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) and retired as

a Veteran.

I graduated from Truckee Meadows Community College with a General

Education Degree.

I am now licensed as an Advanced Esthetician.

I enjoy all aspects of cosmetology and esthetics and love sharing that

experience with our wonderful students.

I am married and have two amazing children that have followed me into the beauty industry. You know the love for your career  has shown through when your children choose to follow you. The creativity this industry offers has fulfilled me on so many levels. I have learned so much through out the 25+ years of my career as a Cosmetologist. I am an operator in a salon but I decided I needed to share my skills and the happiness of the industry, so I became an instructor. Instructing the new generation of talented students is amazing. I enjoy every student and what they will bring to the industry. 

I was born and raised in Reno, NV.  I’m a single mom of 4 beautiful kids and they are my world. I studied nail technology at Redken International Academy of Style in 2012. I have been a licensed nail technician for 10 years and absolutely love what I do. I originally went to college to become an Elementary school teacher; but right before I graduated, I decided that I wanted to become a nail technician.  In the back of my mind, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher but was never fully sure in what. While I was attending beauty school, I realized I could combine my passion of doing nails and teaching into one career. I could share my love of being a nail technician while perusing my dream of teaching. So that became my goal, and I was going to make sure I reached it; a year after I received my nail license, I achieved that goal. I taught nails at Redken IAS from 2013-2014, but I decided to step away from teaching to be in a salon full time. I had an itch to teach for years after that and I am beyond excited to be back. I absolutely love being a nail instructor and being able to prepare students for the industry.

 This is a little bit about me; I was born in Reno, NV, I am married with two children. I decided to go to Cosmetology school because I always wanted to do hair. I was drawn to it at a young age and have been around it my whole life. My Mother, Aunt and Grandmother are all cosmetologists. I have now been licensed for 14 years and instructing for 10 years. It is one the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. Making people beautiful and having them leave with a smile when I’m done. As far as teaching, working with all of the students is so much fun. I love giving them all of my knowledge. I have learned more working here than anywhere I have worked before. They challenge me every day. I have been to countless classes including Redken, Dermalogica, PCA, and many others. I continue to grow as I further my career. This is not just a job, it is a lifestyle. 

 I was born in Reno Nevada. I have three wonderful children and five grandchildren. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 38 years and I’ve been a licensed instructor for 14 years. I’ve been very passionate about my work. I have always loved Hair since a young age growing up in the environment and learning from my mother and my aunt. As an instructor I encourage students to work their hardest and learn how rewarding this business can be. Some of my talents include being a master color specialist and I have worked with redken Toco Magico, J. Beverly Hills. Wella, surface, dermeological, PCA. I’m proud to be in this business and have earned so much from this career.

About me. I have been married 34 years, we have 2 children,  5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  I have been in the beauty industry for 17 years, teaching for 8 years. I love the industry  and teaching. I love being with the students and helping them get their start for an amazing career. For many years I worked at multiple places at one time, now just teaching. I was also in the US army, 4 active years and 2 reserve. I am certified in multiple skin care lines and certified in pigment cosmetics.  It's an amazing field, you will make lifelong friends,  contacts and clients .

 Kendra is a skilled cosmetologist with five years of experience in the beauty industry and three years as an instructor. Specializing in braiding and passionate about nails. Kendra also brings a deep expertise in esthetics. Dedicated to teaching, mentoring, and helping aspiring beauty professionals to grow, develop their skills, and thrive in the industry.  

 Hi all! My name is Sofia! I’m a fun-loving Reno-born girl who absolutely loves to create! I have been in the cosmetology industry for three years now. For two of those years, I worked at Sportclips specializing in men’s cuts all while working at another salon doing women’s hair and nails. I love staying up to date with trends so that I can teach myself and those around me new evolving techniques.
